Very fine and rare, platinum, two time-zone, gentleman's chronometer wristwatch with resonance-controlled twin independent movements, 40- hour power-reserve indication and a platinum F.P. Journe buckle. Accompanied by a fitted box and certificate.

C. Three-body, solid, polished, transparent case back with 6 screws, top and side crowns engine-turned with "cordes de Marseille" pattern, sapphire crystals. D. Twin "guilloché" matte silver with concentric radial Arabic numerals and minute rings, off-set subsidiary ?guilloché? seconds dials on brushed 18K white gold dial plate with up-and-down indication at 12. Blued steel "Journe"- style hands. M. Cal. F.P. Journe 13''', rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, twin independent complete trains set on a single plate, 37 jewels, twin straight line lever escapements, twin beryllium 4-arm balances with 4 adjustable timing weights, shock-absorbers, self-compensating free-sprung Invar balancesprings. One of the escapements is mounted on a small platform pivoting around the second wheel by means of rack and pinion to adjust the distance between the 2 balances in order to find the most efficient position for resonance synchronization. The crown at 4 synchronizes the seconds hands. Dial and case signed. Diam. 38 mm. Thickness 9 mm. To be sold without reserve

F. P. Journe Born in Marseille in March 1957, he entered watchmaking school at the age of 14 and later moved to Paris to continue his studies, obtaining his diploma within 2 years. Working with his uncle Michel Journe, a specialist in the restoration of antique clocks and watches, he was able to examine and restore objects dating from the beginning of mechanical horology to the present day. In 1985, he opened his own workshop and began making complicated watches of his own design for several international collectors. He joined the ?Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants?, A.H.C..I. in 1986 and began exhibiting regularly at the International Clock and Watch Fair in Basel. Established at present in Geneva, he created the company ?Montres Journe S.A.?, where he continues creating his elegant and exceptional complicated watches that have made him known the world over and earned him numerous international awards.
