David Louis Huguenin, (Le Locle), Swiss, No. 397, circa 1810. Fine and rare 18 ct.gold, quarter repeating, dead beat center seconds watch with special escapement.

C. Three body, Empire, polished. GiIt brass cuvette. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals (restored). Blued steel "serpent" hands. M. GiIt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, the barrel with engraved cover passing through the back plate, secured by a polished steel bridge. Special spring detent escapement with plain gold half second beating plain gold four arm balance, flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. The hands are set by means of a knurled wheel on the border of the dial such as the hands of Pousait dead beat center seconds watches. Signed on the dial, numbered with the maker's initiais on the dial enamel backing. In good condition. Diam. 60 mm. This watch is described and illustrated by A.
