Gille & Bois de Chesne, Swiss, circa 1780. Fine 18 ct. gold, paste-set half skeletonized watch.

C. Double body, Louis XVI, with engraved paste-set bezels and glased back. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Paste-set Louis XVI hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, cylinder escapement, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring, polished steel end-piece. The wheel train is visible through the pierced and engraved back plate, applied with a fine pierced, paste-set floral decoration, a comtal crown on the top. In good condition. Diam. 40 mm.
