Four part, the underside realistically chased and engraved with applied legs, the wing covers engraved and black enamelled set with graduated emeralds and diamonds, the thorax similarly decorated and set with rubies and diamonds with cabochon ruby eyes, wing covers hinged and opening from a button in the base to reveal the dial with a basse taille florally engraved surround. Hinged gold cuvette, the back cover with inset glazed miniature frame. D. White enamel, Roman hour numerals. Blued-steel hands. M. Oval frosted and gilt bar caliber, 10 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain 3-arm balance, flat spring with regulator. In perfect condition. Original fitted case with crowned silver monogram. Dims. 47 x 28mm.
