Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1850. Fine and rare gold and enamel form watch designed as a handbag and containing a semi miniature watch.

Outer: entirely engraved with floral and foliage patterns, the hinged front cover pierced with trellis work with folding clasp suspending three yellow gold tassles and two matted balls on gold chains with the grip in the form of a woven gold rope suspended from a brooch pin designed as a human hand wearing a cuff of gold decorated with white champleve enamel and set with small rubies. Watch case: four body with reeded bezel, the back decorated with blue guilloche enamel set with a rose diamond spray (small repair well executed). Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with Roman hour numerals. Blued-steel moon hands. M. Frosted, gilt Geneva bar with 8 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain 3- arm balance, flat spring with regulator. Signed Geneve on cuvette. In original fitted blue velvet covered box. In good condition. Dims. 25mm. diam. watch, 120mm. overall length.
