Notes

James Cox was a renowned maker of clocks, watches and objects for the Chinese market and particularly the Imperial Court during the latter half of the 18th century. Many of his objects were constructed on a gigantic scale, but the movement contained within this case must be counted amongst the smallest fusee watches ever made. The diameter of the back plate is less than 14mm. in total.
