Lépine, Horloger du Roi à Paris, No. 4958, with Paris hallmarks for 1784. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, paste-set, dumb quarter-repeating watch.
C. Double body, Louis XVI, with paste-set bezels, pendant and bow, the back panel of blue enamel inlaid with a regular pattern of pistes. D. White enamel with radial Arabic numerals (slightly restored on the border, beneath the bezel). Gold pierced fleur-de-lys hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass pierced continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Repeating on the case by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 43 mm.
