Lambert, Elève de Robin No. 903, circa 1810. Large and fine silver centre-seconds watch with early lever escapement.

C. Three body Empire with reeded band and engine-turned back. D. Silver engine-turned with Roman numerals on a polished chapter. Bluedsteel Breguet hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, going-barrel, early straight line lever escapement, plain gold three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Signed on the dial and back plate. In good condition. Diam. 65 mm.

Notes

The escapement of this watch is very similar to that used by Robert Robin for the early lever watches he made on the model of those by Josiah Emery, imported from England as early as 1782. For the escapement, see plate page 183.
