Hilaire Bassereau (Paris), No. 365-2/1802, completed in February 1802. Fine and rare 18 ct. gold, quarter-repeating watch with special escapement, the cuvette with date and equation table.
C. Three body, Empire with reeded band and polished back. Hinged gilt brass cuvette, the centre engraved with a date ring and outer equation of time table, the polished steel date pointer driven by a click work on the back, advanced each time the key is inserted in the winding hole. D. White enamel with small central hour chapter-ring with Breguet numerals and outer Arabic minute ring on the border of the bezel ( hair lines). Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. 22"', gilt brass, true Lepine calibre with freestanding barrel, double wheel duplex escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with " parachute" suspension, flat balance spring with bimetallic compensation curb on the index. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Signed and dated on the cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 59 mm.
