Tavernier à Paris, No. 816, circa 1780. Extremely rare and fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, double face, dumb quarter repeating, moon phase astronomical watch with full calendar, indication of the equation of time for each decade, the leapyear cycle and the year front the first up to 9999.

C. Double body, Louis XVI, glazed on both face, the bezels with scrolled decoration on a blue chanpleve enamelled ground. D. Whit enamel on the front with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and the month with the equation of time for each decade. White enamel on the rear face with the days of the week, subsidiary dial for the leap-year cycle, small sector for the regulator index, apertures for the phases of the moon, the date, month and year. Louis XV hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Repeating on the case by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial and dial plates. In very good condition. Diam. 49 mm.
