Anonymous, France, circa 1880. Fine gilt bronze, eight-day going, quarterrepeating "grande and petite sonnerie" carriage clock with subsidiary seconds, alarm and double calendar.

C. Gilt brass, "Gorge", glazed on five faces. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, subsidiary dials for seconds on "XII", for alarm setting, days of the week and dates. Blued-steel "Romaines simples" hands. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, platform escapement with lateral lever escapement, bimetallic balance, blued-steel flat balance spring. Striking repeating and alarm on gongs with button on the top and grande sonnerie/petite sonnerie/silent optional lever in the base. In very good condition. Dim. 14,5 x 9 x 8 cm. excluding the handle.
