Bourdin, Horloger Breveté, 28 rue de la Paix, Paris, No. 4649, circa 1850. Very fine and rare, gilt bronze, eight-day going, quarter-repeating "grande and petite sonnerie" carriage clock with subsidiary seconds, alarm, double calendar and chronometer escapement, in original fitted travelling box.
C. Gilt brass, early "Gorge" type, glazed on four sides, entirely engraved scrolled foliage. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and inner eccentric subsidiary seconds, subsidiary dials for alarm setting, days of the week and date. Bluedsteel Breguet hands. GiIt brass dial-plate also engraved with foliage decoration. M. Brass, rectangular with going barrels both on the going and the striking train, platform escapement with a spring detent escapement, two-arm compensation balance with poismg weights and timing screws, blued-steel helical balance spring with terminal curves. Striking repeating and alarm on bells with button on the top and urande sonnerie/petite sonnerie/silent optional ever on the back door. Signed on the dial and the back door. In ver}}, good condition.
