Notes

It seems likely that this watch was made by Isaac- Paul Duhamel, as his son, Louis would have been too young in view of the date. Isaac-Paul was married to Marguerite de Genicourt, to whom he ceeded the title of Marchand Horloger Privilegie du Roi. Said title passed to their son upon the resignation of Marguerite in 1686, and she apparently died before 1678. Isaac-Pierre and Louis Duhamel were in business together from circa 1684. The particularly elegant dial of this watch is divided for 10 minutes and the hand elongated to a needle point.
