Isaac Thuret à Paris, circa 1685. Fine and rare ebonised pear-wood veneered, hour and half hour-striking early pendulum clock.
C. Rectangular with half-moon pediment and front door, applied with a chased gilt bronze foliage decoration, lateral sliding panels. Bail feet with gilt bronze godronned caps. D. Brass chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Fine gilt brass pierced and engraved "persil" hands. Green velvet covered rose-wood dial plate, the pendulum aperture below the dial, covered by a gilt bronze cartouche. M. Brass rectangular, with turned pillars, single double ended going barre] for both the going and the striking train. Verge escapement with short pendulum, silk suspension with cycloidal cheeks. Striking on a bell, the count-wheel on the back plate. Signed on the cartouche below the dial. In good condition. Dim. 42,5 x 27,5 x 11,5 cm.
