Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1820. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, quarter repeating, musical watch with an automaton scene.

C. Three body, Empire, with reeded band and engineturned back. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. Small silver chapter ring with Breguet numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. Enamelled dial-plate painted with a landscape ( slightly restored) with applied three coloured gold cupid Jacks repeating hours and quarters on bells. Below the dial, fine three coloured gold applied automaton scene, driven by the musical train, depicting a sitting lute player and a young boy, playing the triangle. M. GiIt brass double train, with free standing barrels, inverted cylinder escapement, plain gold three arm balance, flat balance spring. Pin-disc musical train with 26 vibrating steel blades. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. In good condition. Diam. 58 mm.
