?Minute Repeating, Split Seconds Chronograph? Tiffany & Co., New York, No. 16716. Made circa 1880. Very fine and rare, minute repeating, 18K yellow gold pocket watch with split seconds chronograph and subsidiary seconds dial at 9.

C. Four-body, ?pomme et filet?, the back cover engraved with foliage, chronograph button in the crown, split seconds button in the band at 2 o?clock. Glazed gold-rimmed cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track and outermost fifths of a second divisions with red painted Arabic five minute/seconds numerals, subsidiary seconds at 9 o?clock. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 43 mm., 19???, maillechort, "fausses côtes" decoration, 25 jewels, straight-line calibrated and counterpoised lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band. Dial and movement signed by the retailer. Diam. 53 mm.
