James Nardin, (Swiss), Locle, No. 11481, circa 1890. Very fine 18 ct. gold open hunting cased, keyless minute repeating independent centre seconds watch with 1/4 second "foudroyante", in original rose-wood fitted box and with certificate.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets" with reeded band. Gold cuvette engine-turned on the border. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and independent seconds ring, sunk subsidiary "diablotine". Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 19"', nickel plated, double train with differential winding, gold trains of wheels, 41 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Independent seconds controlled by a push piece in the band. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In very good condition. Diam. 54 mm.
