Meissen pattern (crossed swords mark), end of the 19th. century. Richly decorated porcelain-mounted 8-day mantel timepiece.

C. Entirely of white porcelain, the shaped rectangular base decorated with a variety of summer flowers and supporting the rectangular clock case, with square section columns and shallow arched top, the sides with pierced oval rosettes, and decorated flowers, grouped and individual exotic birds, figures and a landscape, an amati festooned with vine foliage seated on the arch. A lady draped in a puce and gilt toga and wrapped with a flowered cloak leans against the clock, whilst a poodle jumps up at her side. D. White enamel, with blue Roman and red Arabic hour and minute numerals. Pierced gilt Louis XV hands. M. Circular brass plates with going-barrel, anchor escapement and penny bob pendulum. In good condition. Dims. 38cm.high x 30cm. wide
