Per. Morand, Swiss, circa 1780. Extremely rare and fine, 18 ct. gold diamond set miniature fob watch with gold matching key and Iater specially made diamond-knot clip.

C. Double body, Louis XVI, with diamond set bezel, the back chased in a radiant pattern, diamond set bow, specially made to match the clip. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Blued steel hands. M. GiIt brass full plate, with conical pillars, going barrel, early cylinder escapement with brass 'scape wheel, plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Signed on the dial plate beneath the dial. In very good condition. Diam. 16 mm.

The movement of this watch, with 14 mm. diameter, is certainly one of the smallest ever made in the XVlllth century.
