Ls. Duchêne & Fils, No. 80272, (Genève), circa 1810. Fine and unusual, small 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl set, quarter repeating watch with special escapement.
C. Three body, "Empire", with split-pearl set bezels, reeded band, the engine-turned back with a small painted enamel Cupid within an eccentric medaillon chased with foliage and set with alternate split-pearls and turquoises on the border. Hinged gilt brass cuvette. D. Gold engine-turned with Breguet numerals on a white enamel chapter ring. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. GiIt brass, drawn from the Lepine calibre, with free standing barrel, virgule escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial and cuvette. In good condition. Diam. 37 mm.
