Notes

Thanks to the siderographe, the Universal Time hour angle of any star can now be obtained by means of simple addition or subtraction. The "Sideral" vernal equinox angle, marked in degrees on the dial, the straight ascension line of the star under consideration is subtracted or its straight coascension line expressed in degrees on the table is added. This instrument is described and illustrated in D. Marozzi and G. Foselli Longines pp 100-107 and in Norbert Eder Deck Watches und Chronomètres de bord, Callwey, pp. 46 and 160.
