Anonymous, Swiss, circa 1820. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set quarter repeating musical watch.

C. Four body, "Empire" with split-pearl set bezels, engine-turned band, the back of enamel, painted with a very fine scene depicting "the departure of the affectionate son". Gold cuvette. D. Gold engine-turned with Roman numerals on a polished chapter. Blued steel "serpent" hands. M. GiIt brass, double train with free standing barrels, inverted cylinder escapement with plain brass three-arm balance and flat balance spring. Musical train with pin-disc and 24 steel vibrating blades. Repeating on gongs by depressing the pendant. In very good condition. Diam. 52 mm.
