Anonymous, German,circa 1600. Very fine and rare, weight driven, moon phase, astronomical hour and quarter striking calendar clock with alarm.
C. Rectangular with arched top, brass front face and iron side doors, the right one painted outside with the coat of arms of the Moderer family, the portrait of Eleonora Gonzaga after the famous painting by the Titien, on the inside panel. The arms of the Erlebecken family painted on the left door, the portrait of a gentleman on the inside panel. Egg shape finial at the top, above the bells. D. Silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, inner gilt brass alarm revolving setting disc; subsidiary silvered dial above with double moon calendar divided in two half moon sectors, small date aperture on the top and inner moon phase aperture. Aperture for days of the week below the main dial with a silvered volvelle engraved with their corresponding planetary symbols. Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. M. Iron three train posted frame with square columns, the going train with verge escapement and balance wheel foliot. Striking train with count wheels on the back and alarm train with verge controlled hammer on the left side ( restored). In very good condition with some restorations. Dim. 35 x 13,5 x 13,5 cm.
