Lepine Horloger du Roy à Paris, Invenit et Fecit, No. 3053, Paris Hallmarks for 1778. Very rare and fine 18 ct. two coloured gold, early quarter dumb repeating, center seconds watch.
C. Double body Louis XVI, by Gustave Mermillod, No. 614, with invisible hinges, the fixed bezels chased with a floral decoration, the back engine-turned with a rosette chased at the center. GiIt brass hinged cuvette with winding shutter, opening by means of the twisting pendant. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, center seconds chapter on the border. Gold Louis XVI hands. M. 14? gilt brass full plate, transition caliber, with going barrel, cylinder escapement with plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring. Repeating on the case with polished steel hammers, typical Lepine's repeating train and work. Signed on the dial and the cuvette. In very good condition. Diam. 39mm.
