Maurice Ditisheim, made for the Chinese market, circa 1900. Very rare, two very similar, 18 ct. gold and enamel, hunting cased, pearl set, minute repeating, keyless watches, sold as a pair, with fitted box.

Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", red enamelled bands with paillonne decoration, split-pearl set bezels, the covers with painted scenes depicting a gentleman presenting a rose to two young ladies, on a translucent red enamel ground. The backs with portraits of two young ladies over a similar ground. Gold cuvettes. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Gold Louis XV hands. M. Glazed 11-, gilt brass, 29 jewels, counterpoised adjustable straight line lever escapement with cut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. In very good condition. Diam. 34mm.
