Charles E. Jacot, Chaux-de-Fonds, Swiss, No. 3382, circa 1860. Rare and fine 18 ct. gold hunting cased watch with independant seconds, "diablotine" and the special lever escapement patented in June 1858.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished with reeded band. Gold cuvette. D. White enamel, with Roman numerals, outer Arabic independant seconds ring and sunk subsidiary 1/4 seconds "foudroyante". Blued steel and gilt Breguet hands. M. 18"', gilt brass, double train, partly skeletonized, with going barrels, 28 jewels, counterpoised special patented Jacot's quarter seconds beating straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial, case and movement. In good condition. Diam. 55mm.
