C. Double body bassine, the enamelled back painted with a very fine scene, depicting Mars, Venus and Amour, the border with four small landscapes painted in cartouches. A castle falling into ruins, painted inside, on the enamel backing. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring (specially made toward the mid XVlllth century for such enamel dials are easier to read than the silver champleve dials, used previously). Blued steel "poker and beetle" hands. M. GiIt brass full plate, with silver pillars in form of standing lions in escutcheons, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel three armed balance, gilt brass English cock. Signed on the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 50mm.
