Anonymous, French, circa 1890. Fine and unusual, gilt bronze and enamel past set, hour striking and repeating carriage clock in form of a sedan chair, with porcelain portraits.

C. Gilt bronze in form of a sedan chair, with fleur de lys a t the top, cast in the XVlllth. century style with allegories on love. Small porcelain medaillon beneath the dial, painted with a Cupid lighting the altar of love, porcelain portraits of young ladies on each sides, within blue enamelled frames painted with white and gold scrolled decoration and paste set bezels. D. Gilt brass chapter ring with Roman numerals, in a frame matching that of the side panels. Blued steel "fleur-de-ly" hands. M. Eight day going double train movement with going barrels. Gilt bras platform escapement, lateral lever escapement, uncut bimetallic balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring. Striking and repeating a gong. In good condition. Dim. 28 x 11 x 8,5 cm.
