Jump, London, circa 1900.Very rare and fine silver-gilt and shagreen-cased 'humpback'timepiece astronomical carnage clock with perpetual calendar and moon-phase, in original travelling case.

C. One-piece brass frame with silver-gilt mounts and polished green shagreen covered sides and back with winding shutter. Four bun feet. D. Engine-turned gilt plate with circular engine-turned silver dial, circular grained chapter-ring with Roman numerals and minute divisions, moon-phase aperture above, the blued-steel disk inlaid with gold moons and stars. Apertures for weekdays, date and months below. Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. Shaped brass plates with turned pillars,fusee with chain and maintaining power. Horizontal gilt platform, fully jewelled with english lateral lever escapement, compensation balance with gold timing screws. Blued-steel Breguet spring. Perpetual calendar work of Jump's design mounted on the backplate, the calendar information engraved on facetted disks. Signed on the dial. Suede lined gold-tooled green leather travelling case with gilt handle. In excellent condition. Dims. 158 mm. high.
