Vaucher, Fleurier, made for the Chinese market, circa 1840. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel center seconds watch, with a special escapement.
C. Double body, "Empire", with split pearl set bezel, border, pendant and bow, the back with very fine painted champleve enamelled flowers on a black background, simulating "cloisonné" work. Glazed cuvette. D. White enamel, with Roman numerals, outer minute and seconds ring. Blued steel "croix de Malte" hands. M. 19"' polished steel, Chinese caliber with free standing barrel, duplex escapement with a steel scape wheel, plain steel five armed balance and ruby end-stone. Signed on the dial and movement. In good condition. Diam. 53mm.
