Edouard Juvet, Fleurier, No. 86543, made for the Chinese market, circa 1830. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel center seconds watch with a special escapement.
C. Double body, the fixed bezel, pendant and bow with champleve enamelled decoration, a fine pastoral scene of a shepherd playing the flute for two young makis, painted on the enamel back, with further champleve enamelled decoration on the border. Gold cuvette with engraved decoration. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer Arabic minute and seconds ring. Gold " spade" hands. M. 22"', fully engraved gilt brass movement, Chinese caliber with free standing barrel, duplex escapement with plain three armed steel balance, equilibrated with three weights. Signed on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 59mm.
