Notes

The enamel scene may be attributed with some certainty to Jean Louis Richter (1766-1841), the outstanding Geneva enameller, not only on account of the style and workmanship, but also by virtue of the existence of a signed example of his work which depicts the same figures in the scene. It further seems likely that the case is the work of Georges Reymond who co-operated frequently with Piguet & Meylan and Richter.on their most important productions.
