Unsigned, French, circa 1785.Interesting, 18 ct. gold small skeletonised quarter dumb repeating watch, with crystal dial and special escapement.
C. Two-body, 'Louis XVI', glazed back and front decorated with gold pearls, the band with rope-twist pattern, invisible hinges. D. Radial Arabic numerals with outer minute dot divisions, fifteen minute markers, painted directly on the inside of the crystal. Gold 'fleur de lis' hands. M. 29.7 mm o, gilt brass Lepine calibre, free-standing barrel, virgule escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, repeating on blocks in the case by depressing the pendant.Stamped with the discharge mark of Fermier General Henri Clavel (1780-1789).Diam. 37 mm.
