Notes

The watch is remarkable on two counts: firstly, the repoussé scene is preserved in practically original condition, and secondly, it is made in parts which are soldered together in order to give the impression of depth. It is rare to find a repoussé watch with such depth of contours and in such condition.Upjohn Francisis recorded as having worked in London. He joined the Clockmakers Company in 1781 and livery Clockmakers Company, from 1787 to 1793.
