Baillon A Paris, circa 1770.Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel watch, painted in 'camaieu de rose'.

Two-body, 'Louis XVI', the back painted in enamel en camaieu de rose with a rural scene depicting a group of women and children en grisaille washing clothes beside a mill stream, possibly after François Boucher (1703-1770), bezels engraved with a geometrical patterns, the front with four small rectangular cartouches painted with flowers. D. White enamel, radial Roman chapters, outer minute ring with five-minute Arabic numerals. Gold 'Louis XV' hands. M. 36.5 mm, hinged, gilt brass full plate,trapezoidal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain three-arm steel balance, blued-steel balance spring, continental cock pierced and engraved, wheel and click set-up, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Signed on the movement.Diam. 46 mm o.
