C. Stamped SG, for either Solomon Gibbs or Stephen Goujon. Outer: two-body, polished. Inner: two-body, 'bassine', polished, gilded dust cap. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute ring with five-minute Arabic numerals. Blued-steel 'beetle and poker' hands. M. 34.5 mm o, hinged gilt brass full plate with square baluster pillars, fusee and chain, cylinder escapement, overbanking pin mounted directly on the staff, brass escape wheel, plain steel three-arm jewelled balance with top diamond enstone, single-footed cock numbered 6618 underneath, pierced and engraved with asymmetrical foliage with a mask at the base, worm andwheel set-up.Signed on the movement and the dust cap.Diam. 49 mm.
