Châtelain a Paris, No. 155, circa 1785.Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, diamond- and pearl-set dumb quarter repeating watch with chatelaine and matching key and seal.

C. Two-body, back in translucent Imperial blue enamel over sunburst engine-turning set with small silver stars, each with a rose-cut diamond in the centre, the bezels set with half pearls and smaller stars. The chatelaine is made of three ogival-shaped panels decorated 'en suite' with matching key and seal. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer Arabic minutes. Gold 'serpentine' hands. M. Hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain for the going train, verge escapement, pain three-arm brass balance, blued-steel balance spring, continental cock pierced and engraved.Signed on the dial and the movement, the inside of the back cover stamped with French marks.Diam. 42 mm, length with chatelaine 140 mm.
