The OdalisqueJ. L. Liodet à Genève, circa 1850.Fine and unusual 18 ct. gold and enamel folding lorgnette with concealed watch, and 'orientalist' painted enamel scene.

Spring-loaded front cover with a painting on enamel of an odalisque at her toilet, together with her attendants, the handle and back engraved with scrolls and floral decoration, centred by a cartouche with blue champlevé enamel borders and a white enamel flower inside. D. White enamel, radial Roman chapters, outer minute ring, set in a polished gold plate with winding and regulating apertures. Blued-steel 'spade' hands. M. 20 x 34 mm rectangular, gilt brass bar calibre, 8 jewels, cylinder escpement, plain gilt brass three-arm balance, blued-steel flat balance spring.Signed on the dial plate.Dim. 26 x 86 mm.
