The RingEdouard Juvet, Fleurier, No. 46345 and 46346, circa 1860.Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel pair of watches asymmetrically painted, with centre seconds and special escapement, made for the Chinese market.

Two-body, the back painted on enamel with a couple admiring a ring, probably taken from a theatrical scene, pendants and bows engraved and enamelled, bezels decorated in red, white and blue champlevé enamel in a repeated floral pattern, spring-loaded engraved gold cuvette mounted on the movement ring. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute divisions and 15-minute markers. Gold 'spoon' hands. M. 47.4 mm o, gilt brass fully engraved 'Chinese' calibre, 9 jewels, free-standing barrel, rubyduplex escapement, plain five-arm balance, flat balance spring, diamond endstone.Signed on the movement, the numbers repeated on the cases.Diam. 57 mm.
