Bovet, Fleurier, No. 477 Lot 477. , circa 1830.Very fine and extremely rare symmetrical pair of 18 ct. gold and enamel watches with centre seconds, steel movements, and special escapements, made for the Chinese market, with their original fitted Morocco box.
C. Two-body, entirely champlevé and 'remoulaillé' and painted in enamel with polychrome flowers and leaves against a black enamel background under flux. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute divisions and Arabic 15-minute numerals. Hinged, spring-loaded and glazed cuvette mounted on the movement ring. Blued-steel 'spade' hands. M. 47 mm o, steel blued plate mirror-polished 'Chinese' calibre, 11 jewels, standing barrel, ruby duplex escapement, plain steel five-arm balance, flat balance sping.Signed on the movement, cases numbered 477 and 477 with dot.Diam. 55 mm.
