The Mauve TulipUnsigned, Geneva, circa 1820.Very fine and amusing 18 ct. gold and enamel, concealed dial form watch in the shape of a tulip.
C. Three-body, two petals are spring-loaded and finely painted in enamel in graduated tones of mauve, hinged to the base of the flower which is in translucent red enamel on a flinqué ground, with green leaves attached to a gold stem forming the pendant, suspended by four chains joined by a single ring. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute divisions, Arabic 15 minute numerals. Blued-steel 'lozenge' hands. M. 19.5 mm o, hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chainverge escapement, plain three-arm brass balance, continental cock, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Dim.
