The Blue TulipUnsigned, Geneva, circa 1810.Very fine and amusing 18 ct. gold and enamel, concealed dial form watch in the shape of a tulip.
C. The six spring-loaded petals finely painted in enamel in tones of blue, yellow, and red, opening to reveal the dial when a leaf fixed to the stem is pressed; hinged to the base of the flower and decorated with a rosette in blue and red enamel. A leaf-shape slide on the stem closes the tulip. Gold bezel. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer minute 15 minute Arabic numerals. Gold Breguet hands. M. 22 mm o, hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapementplain three-arm brass balance, continental cock, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Published in the Sandberg book, pages 434-435.
