The Judgment of ParisUnsigned, Swiss, enamel attributed to the workshop of J-L Richter, circa 1810.Two fine and amusing 18 ct. gold and enamel ball-shaped form watches with concealed dials.
C. Spring-loaded top with painted enamel scenes of Venus extending her hand for Paris's apple, the back with the words 'A la plus Belle' written in white enamel against a dark blue translucent ground over engine-turning. The edges engraved with laurel leaves over a white enamel ground, with an azure enamel surround. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals, outer Arabic minutes. Gold Breguet hands. M. 21.4 mmo, hinged, gilt brass full plate, cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plainthree-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, continental cock, rack and pinion regulator with silver plate.Diam. 27 mm.
