Unsigned, Swiss, enamel attributed to the workshop of J-L Richter, circa 1820.Very fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel sealing-wax case with a concealed watch.

The tapered case entirely engraved and decorated in black and blue champlevé enamel, the front and back with six oval medallions bearing scenes featuring children, the spring-loaded lower front panel opens to reveal the watch. D. White enamel, Arabic numerals set in the centre of a plate with gold foliate decoration over dark blue enamel. Blued-steel 'spearhead' hands. M. 10 x 25.5 mm, hinged, gilt brass full plate, fixed barrel, cylinder escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance sprig.Dim. 110 x 19 mm. Published in the Sandberg book, pages 464-465.
