SouvenirLeonard Bordier, Geneva, circa 1800.Magnificent and very rare 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl-set pendant watch with date.

C. Double-sided pendant with the oval watch set within delicate filigree and whole pearls between two subsidiary double-faced oval painted enamel plaques, bezel set with split pearls, the back centred by a gold and champlevé enamel urn within a blue enamel reserve, the word 'SOUVENIR' written beneath it. Sprays of paillon leaves and flowers, as well as two doves and a dog -symbolising Love and Fidelity - surround the urn, which is also decorated with pearls. The four putti painted on the subsidiry oval plaques represent Hymenaeus, Ariadne, Psyche and Flora. D. Oval, central, white enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions with fifteen-minute Arabic numerals, flanked at the bottom with a regulating sector and at the top with 31-day subsidiary dial. Gold Breguet hands. M. 19.5 x 33 mm, oval, hinged, plain gilt brass with conical pillars, fixed barrel, cylinder escapement, brass escape wheel, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, one-footed engraved cock, ruby endstoneSigned on the movement.Diam. 56 mm.
