The Snuff BottleUnsigned, Geneva, circa 1810.Very fine and extremely rare 18 ct. gold and enamel pearl-set snuff bottle fitted with a watch, made for the Chinese market.

C. The bottle entirely enamelled in translucent emerald green over an engine-turned ground, with champlevé polychrome enamel strawberry flowers and fruits and gold foliage. A single row of pearls decorates the curved sides. On each side, within a pearl surround, there are oval paintings on enamel of fruit on one side and flowers on the other. The stopper with spoon, its base, neck and body in polychrome champlevé enamel, houses the watch with pearl-set bezel, the opening of the bottle decoratedith gold leaf rosette. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute divisions. Gold 'spade' hands. M. 15.8 mm o, hinged, gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain brass balance, continental cock.Dim. 55 x 46 mm.
