Morel a Paris No. 13356, circa 1860.Very fine, 18 ct. gold and bloodstone chatelaine watch set with diamonds, rubies and whole pearls.
C. Four-body, 'bassine et filets', back cover set with a bloodstone with the monogram 'SM',the 'S' set in rubies, the 'M' in diamonds, bezels set with alternating diamonds and rubies, gold hinged cuvette and diamond-set pendant. Chatelaine: oval bloodstone, decorated with a ruby and diamond-set coronet, two chains of alternating pearl and bloodstone links joined by gold rings, one finished with a key, the other with a seal, between them hangs a matching chain with bloodstone link within a tasselset with further diamonds and rubies. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute divisions. Blued-steel Breguet hands. M. 24.2 mm o, gilt brass bar calibre, 10 jewels, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm gilt balance with blued-steel flat balance spring.Signed on the cuvette.Diam. 31 mm, length 113 mm.
