Four-body, 'bassine et filets', the front with a painted on enamel scene of three people in period dress in a woodland setting; a seated young lady with a gentleman whispering sweet nothings in her ear, a lady's maid standing behind with a tray of fruit, the back with a painted enamel portrait of a lady on a cream coloured background, band with a red champlevé enamel geometrical pattern, gold hinged cuvette inscribed 'Medaille Exposition Universelle, Paris 1889' over glazed gold bezel to viewthe movement. D. White enamel, Roman chapters, outer minute ring and outer fifth of seconds scale calibrated from 0 to 300. Gold 'Louis XV' hands.M. 20''', gilded 3/4 plate, 30 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued-steel Breguet balance spring, 'swan-neck' micrometric regulator, striking on two gongs by a slide on the band, hands lever-set.Signed on the dial, back and cuvette stamped with Maurice Ditisheim's maker's mark.Diam. 56 mm.
