Les Freres Huaud p., Geneva, circa 1695. Very rare enamelled copper watch, with especially built movement.
C. Two-piece gilt-brass frame with chevron engraved border, hinged split-bezel for the glass. Back enamelled on copper, with a scene of Meleager and Atalanta with the Caledonian boar, the border with typical landscape vignettes intersected by masks against lavender foliage. ( some surface scratches, signature partly worn). Loosering foliage. D. White enamel with Roman hour and Arabic five minute numerals. Winding aperture at III, and gilt Louis XV hands. M. Purpose-built movement from approximately 1760, unsigned, gilt full plate with balluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain balance, flat balance spring Pierced continental cock. Signed on the case In good condition. Diam. 47 mm.
