Dent, Watchmaker to the Queen, 33, Cockspur street, London, Swiss for the English market, circa 1850. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, diamond-set folding lorgnette with a concealed watch.

The watch is set in the handle, finely engraved on both sides with scrolled foliage, enamelled with green decoration and set with diamonds, the cover with a fine bunch of flowers, formed by inlaid rose-diamonds against a green translucent enamel over engine-turning. The reverse with a rose-diamond, inlaid monogram, below a Ducal crown. D. White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. GiIt brass, bar caliber, 8 jewels, cylinder escapement with a plain brass three armed balance, flat balance spring. In very good condition, with a gold key.. Dim. 88 x 24 mm.
